Proverbs 22:7 – The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
This verse may not hit home for you until you have lived it. For those who have, you know the feeling. You fight with everything in you to put food on the table, keep your home or car, keep your business open but can’t because all of your money goes to the lender. You work like crazy for your money to go into your account and back out just as fast. You truly work for the lender.
This is the foundation of Financial Peace University (FPU). I felt robbed of my hopes, happiness and dreams. Thankfully there was hope. When my wife and I took FPU together, we were in a state of despair on the verge of losing everything we had worked so hard to obtain. We entered into the course completely open minded, hoping to find out anything that would help us survive this time of turmoil. Financial Peace University presented biblical, practical steps to get us from where we were to where we originally dreamed we could be. It truly offered hope to the hopeless and renewed our faith and trust in the only One who could help us through this.
Now that we are out of the mess mentioned above, we can finalize the plan to ensure a more stable future.
Proverbs 21:5 – The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.
FPU provides solid insights like how to relate to your spouse about money, singles accountability, insurance planning, retirement/college planning and many other topics. Zig Ziglar says, “If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them, then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.” This is what we want to share with others, among many things. This course teaches you how to focus on the things that will help you for the future. It also gives you encouragement to stand out from the crowd and not get caught up in “keeping up with the Jones,” but instead to “change your family tree.”
The final lesson sheds light on what great things can be accomplished when you use money the right way. This lesson focuses on giving. The challenge in this lesson is to make at least one person cry happy tears per day. What a goal! There is NOTHING like helping others!
I know the hope this course brings. Now that we are out, we are fully armored with a plan to make at least one person cry per day.
Whether you are married or single or whatever phase of life you are in, this class has something to benefit you. I hope you will plan on joining us for the orientation that will be offered after both services on August 5th and 12th. You can also find out more information online by clicking here.
Let’s work together to create a world focused on giving rather than a world focused on taking. Hope to see you there!
