Last week was a week full of firsts for Open Door.
The first ever College ministry, Uprise, met for the very first time! It was a meeting full of expectation, excitement, and faith. None of us knew how many or who would show up but we were still stoked to be able to just have a place to meet on ECU’s campus but God did what He does best and that was exceed our expectations.
What it showed me more than anything was the sense of community and love the people of Open Door have for this city. There were students I had never seen or met in my life that had been attending our church but that night, no one was a stranger. It was the love of God spread throughout that room that we pray and have faith will spill out on to the campus of ECU and Pitt Community College.
It was a legendary night and has set the pace for what I believe God has called us to; Love God, Love people, Change the world!

We are launching our new College Ministry called Uprise in a few short months and are looking for volunteers who are willing to partner with us as we reach out to the campus. We will be having a meeting on January 22 following the 10:45am service at Open Door. If you’d like to be a part of this ministry please make plans to join us for this meeting!
